Barry L Haase's Obituary
Barry L. Haase, 85 years old, of Manalapan, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1940, Barry earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts before receiving his L.L.B. degree from George Washington University School of Law in 1962. He began his career as a Staff Attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1967 to 1970 and later served as Vice President and General Counsel of A.G. Becker, an investment banking firm, from 1970 to 1977.
Barry’s career continued at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as Director of the Office of Pipeline and Producer Regulation from 1977 to 1979. He then practiced law in Washington, D.C. from 1979 to 1986, before moving into leadership roles in real estate development and management. From 1987 to 1992, he was President and CEO of Diversified Partners, Inc., and later served as President of Ellenburg Capital Corporation following a merger in 1992. In 1997, he orchestrated the landmark sale of a $350 million portfolio of mobile home communities to Manufactured Home Communities, a NYSE-listed REIT. Most recently, as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Diversified, Barry oversaw acquisitions, financing, site management, and expansion.
While Barry was widely respected for his professional vision and leadership, it was his love of family, loyalty, and compassion that defined him most deeply. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose presence was a constant source of strength and kindness.
Barry was also a lifelong Boston sports fan — a passionate supporter of the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox. His enthusiasm for his teams was matched only by his enjoyment of golf, which he played with joy and competitive spirit throughout his life.
Barry is survived by his wife, Sigrun Haase; his children – Michael and Erik Haase; Michael’s spouse, Molly Haase; his grandchildren – Byrce and Ryan Haase; and his sister, Ruth Fishel. He was preceded in death by his parents Nathan and Lee Haase.
The family will be conducting a private service. Barry’s final resting place will be at Beth Israel External Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the SOS Children’s Villages USA.
May his memory be a blessing.
