Bernice Mizels' Obituary
Bernice Mizels, 88, of Huntington Pointe in Delray Beach, FL passed away Thursday May 2, 2019. She was formerly of Forest Hills, NY. Outgoing and fun-loving, Bernice was an avid poker player, enjoyed playing paddle ball and loved to dance. She also gave back to her community, collecting for and supporting organizations such as the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Association. Bernice was the beloved wife of Seymour – they were married for 65 years; the devoted mother of Sharon (Gordon Alter) Mizels and Vicki (Art) Ellsweig; and the loving grandmother of Marlowe (Lauren) Alter, Clay Alter, Garrett Ellsweig, and Adam Ellsweig. Chapel services will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday May 5, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437 followed by interment in Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, Boynton Beach, FL. Rabbi Raphael Adler of Temple Anshei Shalom in Delray Beach will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Bernice’s memory be made to any COPD or Cancer related organization.
