My beloved Grandma Blanche, my last living grandparent, passed peacefully at the age of 97. Of course, I was blessed to have her in my life for so long, I know, but part of me truly believed she would live forever. And though I did not get to see her often, I'm still in shock that she is not over there (head nod towards first Boca, then in recent years, towards Boynton Beach) chatting with the ladies and bragging about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! I also loved when we got to talk on the phone, and she would (rightly so) brag about herself and her family finishing high school early and going on and taking college classes. My grandma had a memory like you wouldn't believe, an appreciation for beauty and fun, and a youthful energy about her. I'll never forget her laugh or her gravelly voice. Grandma, I will always love and miss you. And we always knew we were loved beyond measure.
