Brenda Schneiderman Maltz's Obituary
Brenda Maltz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully July 24, 2026. Her greatest love was a true love with her husband Jason Maltz who she was never far from in 62 years of marriage. We are comforted that they are now together again and forever.
Brenda was talented, beautiful and sophisticated. She loved reading and almost always had a book in her hands. She also loved children and her community. She volunteered for several organizations such as Friends of the Library, SCORE which was the community center to give less privileged children in Latham a place to gather, play, and ice skate, and she single handedly started the Young Judea chapter in Albany to connect the Jewish children of our community to each other and neighboring cities in New York State.
She was an accomplished artist with her favorite mediums being oil on wood and watercolors, some of which were made into needlepoint projects. Her own parents were also super proud when she represented their Boston community as Miss Dorchester. Above anything Brenda loved her daughters and especially her grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her loving daughters, Dana Lurie and her husband Lewis Lurie, and Shari Gordon and her husband David Gordon. She was the cherished grandmother of Elan and fiancé Daniela, Jordynn, Blake, and Bradley, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy and through whom her legacy and loving spirit lives on. A memorial service celebrating Brenda will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 1o15a.m. at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel Delray located at 5808 W Atlantic Avenue, followed by interment at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton. Though our hearts feel broken, we find peace knowing her greatest love Jason was there waiting for her and she was surrounded by love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May her memory be a blessing.
