Celia Tavss' Obituary
CELIA TAVSS, 100, an original resident of Century Village East, in Deerfield Beach, FL., passed away peacefully September 9, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Bonnie, in Tamarac, Fl., after a brief illness.She and Howard Tavss (deceased) were blissfully wed for 57 years until his death Dec. 2nd, 1995.She was 100 + ½……”DON’T FORGET THE HALF…..Every day counts!!” When she turned 100 she complained that her body was failing. When facetiously asked, “what do you want”, she said, “101”.She was GENEROUS with Love, & Kindness, & Understanding, & Patience, & Knowledge.Family & ALL children came above all else. ALL children & friends of children were welcome in her world. There was always food on the table, or advice, or a hug if needed.“It took a village…..” She & dad were the village….. with trips to the airports to watch the planes take off & land; to the zoo to see the OR AN GU TAN; to the country; & beaches; & Shorehaven.From LONG DISTANCE help with studying spelling homework, to guidance with careers. She was always supportive & always ready with advice & suggestions.And INDEPENDENT & MODERN:At 95: I can take the bus. If I need help I have a cell phone.At 96: drop me off……I can shop myselfAt 97: can I make you something to eat??At 98: she & Johnathan transformed “OPTIMUS PRIME” from a truck to a robot.At 99: she was persistent in getting Spiderman, the Hulk, Captain America, & the Power Rangers to stand up, as independently as she was.At 100: Dicey?? Captain?? Eat the bagel not my fingers.She is survived by her children: Roberta, Ed, & Bonnie;Grandchildren: Cindy, Tracey, Monica, Pamela, Michael, Michael, & HeatherGreat Grandchildren: Chelsey, Ashley, Adam, Blake, Jordyn, Johnathan, Sara, Luke, Connor, & JakeGreat, Great Grandchildren: Elijah, and 1 on the way!!And numerous nieces & nephews & cousins, & grand nieces & nephews & cousins.
