Oh, Chad,
What a trio we made; you, me, and Keri. Not just at work, but trivia nights at The Pub with my husband and others from Chase, where music, movies, sports, and history had us winning so many $50 gift cards, we were pretty sure we contributed to the place’s demise. (Especially winning $300 during their Olympics night)!
Once, you were adamant that the person on the $2 bill was John Adams. I told you it wasn’t, but you insisted, which we got wrong. The next day, I handed you a $2 bill (Jefferson) and you kept it in your wallet for the longest time. “Like the Mortimer dollar from “Trading Places,” you said.
I most impressed you when I quoted the movie, “The Toy.” - “They don’t want no leopards and lions, no sad pandas. They want me, a Jack Brown wind-up. Suzie has one. He’s real cute too and I want to pinch his nose!” You laughed so hard, you nearly fell out of your chair.
If I lightened your workload with laughter, it was all worth it.
Go Blue Jackets!
While your family in Florida mourns and lays you to rest, I’ll be in Ohio, watching “The Toy” over our favorite pub meal, a steak dinner, remembering my friend. I love ya, you big lug. And by God’s grace, I will see you again.
Sincerely, your friend,
Sherry Jones
