David Irwin Gold's Obituary
David Irwin Gold, 93, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at Select Speciality Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, remembered for his intellect, integrity and the quiet dignity of a gentleman.
Born in 1932 to Nathan and Francis (Simon) Gold, David was recognized early for his intellectual prowess—skipping a grade in school and later earning the Constitutional Law Award at Temple Law School. A self-made attorney and businessman, he put himself through school and was known for his sharp mind and straightforward style.
David raised his family in Merion, Pa., and later lived in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., Ventnor, N.J., and Boynton Beach, Fla., enjoying travel, family and sports. A passionate sportsman and bridge player, he followed games with enthusiasm and loved sharing that joy. As an elected board leader and president, he consistently fought for policies that helped those in need.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Dawn Gold, Cyd Beth Weissman (Jay), and Alan Gold; grandchildren Gary (Kabeera) Weissman, Ross (Rebecca Millner) Weissman, Alexander (Adam Lavitt) Weissman, and Samuel (Ayelet) Weissman; stepchildren Gary (Michele) Block, Randi Margolin (Alan, deceased), and Debra (Bill Hamilton) Block; step-grandchildren Adam (Deborah Lapidus) Margolin, Steven Margolin, Andrew (Vanessa) Block, Michael Block, Avital (Justin) Reindel, and Kobi Hamilton; great-grandchildren Aleema, Nura, Ali, Neshama, Iyla'a, Omri Lavitt and Lavi Weissman; and great step-grandchildren Aaron and Alana Margolin and Ethan Reindel.
David was predeceased by his first wife, Rosalie (Steelman) Gold, his second wife, Jacqueline Gold and his brother Phillip Gold.
David will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him
