David Pitter's Obituary
David Pitter, 96, of The Fountains in Lake Worth, FL passed away on Wednesday January 23, 2019. David resided in Roslyn, Long Island before coming to Florida and was involved in the wholesale linen business before retiring. He was a proud World War II Veteran who fought in the first wave of the Normandy invasion. Landing in Omaha Beach, he was wounded a few weeks later while in France. He recovered in England and was awarded a Purple Heart for his heroism and contribution to the war effort.David was the beloved husband of Doris, his wife of 70 years; the devoted father of Barry (Dalit) Pitter and Amy (Leah Camhi) Pitter; the cherished grandfather of Eric (Evelise) Pitter; Lisa (David) Sandler and Mia Camhi; and the loving great grandfather of Jacob, Talia, Liana and Victor. Chapel services will be held at 11 AM on Friday January 25, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437 with burial to follow in Eternal Light Memorial Gardens.
