Eric Mankuta's Obituary
Eric Mankuta, born July 2, 1948 in Brooklyn (and grew up in Oceanside), passed away Jan 19, 2026 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sol and Millie, as well as his brother David(Amy).
Eric touched many people in many walks of life. He was a teacher (school 8), the first employment manager at Genentech, founder and president of Mankuta/Gallagher & Assoc recruiting firm and a SCORE volunteer mentor.
His greatest pride and joy was his almost 34 years of marriage to his wife, Barbara, and being a parent to Mason and Emily Gup. He was a kind, wise man with a silly streak, and a good friend to all.
His family cherishes their lifetime of memories with him, and would love to hear any Eric stories from his many friends and contacts. In spite of the cruelty that Alzheimer's Disease wrought, to the end he was always kind, loving and brought out the good in everyone. He will be missed tremendously.
Those of you who wish to honor Eric's memory may best do so by means of a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association, and by keeping his memory alive.
