Eugene Schneider's Obituary
Eugene (Gene) Schneider, age 95, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, passed peacefully on December 27, 2018 in Tamarac, Florida. Mr. Schneider was born in New York, New York on March 22, 1923 to Louis and Jenny Schneider. He was the youngest of five brothers, all of whom honorably served in the United States military. After graduation from high school, he served in the United States Armed Forces from 1943 to 1946. He was a Private, 1st Class in the Army Air Force and was stationed in Europe during WWII. In 1948, Mr. Schneider married Helen in New York and they were married for 70 years. Mr. Schneider worked for the U.S. Post Office in New York until he retired to Tamarac, Florida in 1980. His dedication to his family is an inspiration to all those who loved him. He is survived by his wife, Helen Schneider; son Harvey; daughter Carol Kartagener; daughter Cheryl Kranowitz (Hy); grandson Paul Kranowitz (Jamie); granddaughter Lori Kushel (Alex); and great grandchildren, Madison, Emilia and Jordan. A graveside service and interment were held on December 30, 2018 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, Boynton Beach, Florida. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Friends of Magen David Adom (Israeli Ambulance Service) and the Jewish National Fund.
