I an thrilled at the opportunity to honor Uncle Eugene with an entry in the guest book. From Mark, Rhonda, Ari and Ian Boltax. I have many cherished memories of Uncle Eugene… One of earliest memories is when he worked at the Globe Toy Store on 149th street in the Bronx. He would bring me over with him and I got to play with many of the toys there. I remember in the back room was a wall dedicated to models. I remember climbing up a ladder looking at them. It is a vivid memory for me. I also remember when I was getting my drivers license. Uncle Eugene would let me drive him wherever he needed to shop. I received so much driving practice that my drivers test was perfect. For those that didn’t know, Uncle Eugene would only shop at the places where the best foods were to be found. Mostly on Bathgate Ave in the Bronx. Lastly, Uncle Eugene even trusted me to drive his sporty Oldsmobile 442 (wow was that car fast).
