Irving Wosk's Obituary
Irv was born in the Bronx, NY on January 23, 1944, and after kindergarten, moved with his parents, Louis and Anne (nee Weiss) and his sister, Phyllis to White Plains. Irv attended White Plains High School where he was on the wrestling team and the cheerleading squad. After all, you had to be strong to pick up those cute cheerleaders. Irv went on to graduate from Long Island University and took graduate courses at the Institute of Finance in NY.
Irv enjoyed two successful careers in his life. He began his first endeavor as a Commercial Lender at Bankers’ Trust Co in NY, followed by PNC Bank in NJ, as Vice President in the Department of Commercial Lending. He then enjoyed several challenging and interesting years with Weickert Realtors in NJ, selling commercial and residential properties.
Irv loved traveling and cruising to different ports of call. Among his favorite places to visit were Paris and Venice. He enjoyed many styles of music, especially those he could dance to, like Motown. His greatest joy was being with his family. His wife, Rona, of 47 years was his ‘bashert’. Their love was unconditional. Their to devotion to each other was unmatched. Their son, Joel, was the treasure of his life. Irv was his little league coach. Whether it was swimming or skiing, Irv was always there to cheer him on. He adored his little boy, and admired the man he became.
Irv and Rona moved to Florida, where they had a wonderful retirement. Irv made many wonderful friends, and enjoyed nothing more than attending a performance of the Bronx Wanderers at poolside at Palm Isles.
Irv is survived by his wife, Rona, (nee Jacobs); son, Joel, and his wife, Franceline Perfecto; his sister Phyllis (nee Rubin), and her husband, Vinny Capezzano; his nieces, Jill (nee Rubin), and her husband, Andrew Siegel, and Shari (nee Rubin), and her husband, Cary Scharlat, and their children. He is also survived a loving and devoted extended family and many loving friends. He will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted in Irv’s memory to the Marcus Neuroscience Institute of the Boca Regional Hospital, in Boca Raton, Florida, or the charity of your choice.
