My deepest condolences to whole Schaefer family. Jeffrey made everyone of us so proud of his accomplishments. He gained the respect of everyone who knew him, he will be missed. I remember so many things about growing up in the Bronx for over twelve years, living across the street from my cousins, Morty and Jeffrey. Being a girl in those days kind of limited me as to how I played and the toys I played with. Jeff and Morty, on the other hand were very sports minded. I remember Jeff outside always playing one kind of ball game or another, against the building, on the corner, or just throwing that Spaulding into the air, seeing if the next throw could go higher than the previous one.One day I was at their apartment, I must have been around eight years old, making Jeff 11. There was a large box of toys the floor in the foyer, and I was looking in it. Jeff reached into the box and took out a pair of boxing gloves, put them on my hands, put on his own, held up my hands and said,"fight," and we did. Fond memories from Cousin Karen (aka as per Jeff, Klaindalah.)
