Jeffrey Schultz's Obituary
Jeffrey Alan Schultz, 80, passed away peacefully Monday, October 2, 2023, in his Delray Beach, Florida home.
Jeff was born on February 16, 1943, to Lillian and Charles Schultz in Yonkers, New York where he enjoyed an adventurous childhood. Jeff, a Delphic brother, met his beloved wife Linda at the State University of New York at New Paltz. They married on September 17, 1964, and created a joyful life of 59 years. Those years were filled with raising two children, developing deep and lasting friendships, committing time and energy to their communities, and providing unwavering support to their children and five grandsons.
Jeff was a career educator and taught and coached at middle and high schools in Maryland and the District of Columbia for 45 years. Jeff is loved and remembered as an inspiration by the many students he taught, coached, and mentored over the years. In February 2020, he was inducted into John F. Kennedy High School’s Hall of Fame for establishing the Leadership Training Institute that is now in its 30th year.
An avid sports fan, Jeff also worked as a statistician for the Washington Bullets-Wizards for 39 years. He proudly wore the ring he was given when the Bullets won the championship in 1978. Jeff was a steadfast Washington Redskins fan and could be found talking to the television every Sunday during football season.
In his final decade, Jeff and Linda resided in Delray Beach Florida, where Jeff was active in their Deauville Village community and served as President of the Board for nine years.
Jeff had an enormous heart, a fantastic sense of humor, and a way of truly connecting with everyone he met. He was extremely proud of his grandsons and was a consistent encouraging force in their lives - instilling confidence and a strong sense of purpose in each of them. His guidance will undoubtedly continue to direct them as they go out into the world as young men.
Jeff is survived by his wife Linda, his children: Sandy and Hayley, their spouses: Cathy and Hank, grandsons Donovyn (24), Vyncent (23)
Jordyn (22), Tiesyn (19) and Alex (16), in-laws Roberta and Harvey Rosensweig and many nieces and nephews. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Lillian and Charles and his brother Marty. All donations in the name of Jeffrey Schultz are to be made to The American Cancer Society and to the Temple Anshei Shalom of Delray Beach.
