Cindy Marks
Gram was so loved. She used to help me garden, played board games, cooked, and helped me sew costumes for my cabbage patch dolls. We also went to the local swimming pool. She always had a special hiding place for the dollar to pay the ice cream man as he pulled up to the gate. In a time of strife, I once asked gram why she didn’t cry. She squinted and tears rolled down her cheek. She reminded me how to be strong during hard times and that hard times would pass. Her strength and determination (much like her mom etta) is a trait I am proud to have inherited. Although this is a hard time, our love for gram( lois) will carry us through and she will be remembered in our hearts and actions forever.
