Marlene Krause's Obituary
Marlene Krause, 87, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.
Marlene was born on May 25, 1938, in Newnan, Georgia, to Mary and Joe Levine. She was raised in the greater Macon area, where she worked in her family’s textile and clothing business.
She attended the University of Georgia, where she was an active member of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. In 1957, while on vacation, Marlene met the love of her life, Robert (“Bob”) Krause, and they were married on December 29, 1957.
Throughout Bob’s career with the Bendix Corporation and NASA, Marlene and Bob made their home in several cities, including Baltimore, Maryland; Satellite Beach, Florida; Rockville, Maryland; and Houston, Texas. During this time, Marlene also worked at Lockheed and the National Institutes of Health.
In 1997, Marlene and Bob retired to the Palladium community in Boynton Beach, Florida. Marlene remained active in her community, serving in leadership roles with Hadassah and the Boynton Beach Democratic Club, and as a Board Member of the Palladium Homeowners Association.
Marlene will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Lori (Elliott) Brown and granddaughters Arielle Brown and Samantha (Brian) Zelicskovics; her son Alan (Amy) Krause and granddaughters Emily (Austin) Joyner and Jennifer (Broderic) Abshire; and her great-grandson Julian Abshire.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. at Eternal Light Cemetery, 11520 FL-7, Boynton Beach, Florida.
