Michael Lander's Obituary
Michael Lander, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 79.
Born with a determined spirit and an endless curiosity for life, Michael lived boldly and wholeheartedly. He was the devoted father of two children, Michelle and Benjamin, who remained the greatest accomplishment of his life. He took immense pride in the adults they became, often saying that nothing he achieved could compare to being their dad.
Michael was also the delighted grandfather of two energetic boys, Dillon and Samuel, whose humor, antics, and boundless energy brought him great joy. He loved watching his “two crazy grandsons” grow and learn.
Michael enjoyed his last few years living close to his older sister, Renee, with whom he spent more time with bonding.
A man of many passions, Michael loved good food—both eating it and cooking it. He enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen almost as much as he enjoyed sharing the pictures of his creations with those he loved. He was also a talented pool player, famously unbeatable by his son, who tried for years to claim a victory that never came. Michael loved his cavalier dogs over the years with his most recent puppy, Junior, becoming a great friend and never leaving Michael’s side.
Michael was a lifelong entrepreneur, always building, dreaming, and creating. He approached every endeavor with a belief in possibility. He also proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, an experience that shaped his life and created many stories as he traveled through Europe while on leave.
To those who knew him, Michael will be remembered for his humor, his warmth, his gift of gab, and above all, his unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
He will be deeply missed.
