Morton Hirschberger will be remembered as a kind and selfless man, a real joy to all that knew him. He love a good practical joke–like the fake cockroach–and kept the entire family in stitches with his hijinks. He was a darling and patient companion to his wife Francis, who loved him dearly, and was his constant companion until she slipped and fell while emptying the dishwasher. Morty, as we all affectionately called him, was especially close to his niece, Pamela, who was with him for every crisis, and in his later years, for the medical conditions he fought so courageously, and from whom he took back the necklace he had given her to generously present to another family member. He was also very close to his brother, and loved to kid him about his deep pockets. We will all miss him terribly.
