Phyllis Marcus' Obituary
Phyllis Rashti Marcus, age 90 died at home on October 31, 2017. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, she and her beloved husband of 54 years, William Marcus moved to Florida from West Bloomfield, Michigan in 1994 where they had lived for 45 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who had a deeply compassionate heart, style, grace and kindness that were extraordinary. Truly, to know her was to love her. She was a humanitarian and an independent thinker who deeply enjoyed world affairs, spiritual pursuits, bridge and Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. She possessed a brilliant intellect and very recently published her first book of poems, Reflections journeys of my heart. It was a long held dream that she lived to see fulfilled. She leaves behind her four children and five grandchildren: Elyse (Robert) Furlong, David (Jacqueline) Marcus, Susan (Ira) Shepard and Nancy Ganz, and Jon, Evan and Jordan Marcus and Aaron and Sara Ganz. Those wishing to honor Phyllis with a memorial contribution are asked to do so to a charity of your choice.
