Sharon Paula Kabat's Obituary
Sharon P. Kabat, 85, a longtime resident of Delray Beach, Florida and Sayreville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Sharon went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Kean College in New Jersey. She built a successful career as a gifted and enthusiastic salesperson, spending more than two decades in the telecommunications and printing industries. Known for her energy, warmth, and determination, Sharon approached her work—and life—with passion and grace.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sharon was a skilled musician who found great joy in sharing her talents with others. She was always eager to step into the role of musical director for community events, bringing people together through music and her generous spirit.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Donald; her beloved children and their spouses, Jody and Robert Gelfand, and Jeff and Susan Kabat; and her cherished grandchildren and their spouses: Madeline and Jonathan Gelfand, Erica Gelfand, Jessica Gelfand, Max and Taylor Kabat, and Danielle Kabat. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and her presence, kindness, and love will be missed every day. Baruch Dayan Emet.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 18th, at 9:00 a.m. at The Gardens of Boca Raton, located at 4103 N. Military Trail. The family will be sitting Shiva at the Kabat residence at 7911 L’Aquila Way, Delray Beach, from Noon to 3pm on Sunday January 18th, and from 2pm to 5pm on Monday, January 19th.
