Today, March 23rd, is our mother Lilly ‘s birthday. My mother lived and breathed every waking moment dedicated to my sister and I and her grandchildren Steven and Lisa.and Son -in law Ed.and the wonderful extended family to follow. My sister GOGO inherited the same qualities from our mom.She loved and was loved back by all who crossed her path, relatives, friends, neighbors. Although we grew up relatively poor in the Bronx, living pay check to pay check, we were happy, surrounded by love and laughter. Wherever the Rattners lived they made great friends, and relationships lasting still to this day. When they made the big move to BOCA” LIVING LIFE LA VIDA LOCA” ,their home was the center of family and friends gatherings, for 30 years. Whether you lived in South Florida, or a snowbird coming to visit, the Rattners home was the epicenter of Love,Laughter, great food , and hospitality.You were guaranteed to have a great time and shared memories that will last forever.I was always in awe of these visits and gatherings. My sister and Ed had a marriage of 65 years, a union to admire and emulate. The OSCAr for “ Best Marriage”. Another Oscar for “DOING THE RIGHT THINGS” .They always did! Although my sister is physically gone now, her Heart and Soul is embedded in me forever. I choose to honor her by being the best Uncle,great uncle,and Brother-in Law i can be going forward. I know my GOGO is reunited ,safe and nurtured in our mother’s arms . Thank you for being the best sister a brother can have. LUV ALWAYS, MARKSHU
