in honor of Jack.

I knew Jack through Collegiate DECA, an organization I was a member of for all 4 years of college. Even though I attended college in Rhode Island, and Jack was a mentor and advisor for Florida Collegiate DECA, many student members from across the country knew Jack fondly as a friendly and warm man who connected with everybody and was always willing to give advice to young college students. It has been many years since I’ve seen or spoken to Jack, and yet I remember him as one of the pillars of every Collegiate DECA ICDC conference I attended. May Jack’s memory live on through every young person he mentored, advised and led, for that was his ultimate passion!

Professor Rose was a massive influence at a pivotal time in my young life! I wouldn’t be the woman I am today or have pursued my career in marketing and now fashion without his guidance. Being a part of his life as not just a student and mentee, but as a family friend made it all the more special. Any time I saw him he always had a warm and encouraging thing to say. He will be very missed.

My best memories are you being my professor at some point for almost all my years of my bachelors degree and basically getting us all to think outside the box it was never not an entertaining class. Along with doing Give Kids the World with you several years in a row the laughs and memories I will never forget!! Rest in peace 🩷

I never had the opportunity to meet Jack Rose. I only knew him through his son, Peter. He was a triplet; an educator; once a husband, a father and a grandfather. It must be very interesting to play these different types of roles in one's life. Jack had a very productive life and was fortunate to have his children and his grandchildren near by. He will always be remembered by his caring and loving family and by all the students he taught during his life time.

I will never forget the time we went to lunch with Jack during a DECA conference at the Florida Mall. We went to a Sushi place that has a belt that carries dishes around the restaurant. We all just kept taking things to eat as they went by collecting many plates of different colors. At the end Jack went to pay the bill and it was outrageously expensive as the plate prices were determined by the color of the plates. I wish I had a picture of the stacks of plates on the table! He was a good sport and did not want to take any money from us to help pay the tab. We laughed about that all weekend! He was a very sweet person and he will be missed.

Sorry very for your loss. Jack and I shared time at many DECA conferences and trainings over the years. He has been missed at our conferences and will be deeply missed forever. Thoughts and prayers of comfort to the family.
Two of my favorite photos of Jack. The first is with Utah Advisor, Curtis Youngman. The second one Jack was asking for a date. Spoke to to her for about fifteen minutes and we were all just laughing cause another person stop to tell him she wasn't real. LOL I will always cherish my memories.

I am so sorry sad to hear about this. Jack was a mentor of mine while I was working in Admissions at Johnson & Wales University’s North Miami Campus and was a great resource and help for me when I was the Advisor for the Collegiate Deca Chapter at the campus. He will be missed greatly!!!

in honor of Jack.

I've known Jack for many, many years. We worked together for over 25 years running the Florida Collegiate DECA State Development Conference (he was part of DECA for far longer than that). Our friendship was born at DECA, but transcended the event work to become one of the most treasured friendships I've ever known.

Jack would do anything for anyone in need. His heart was the size of Texas, he was generous beyond measure, and he was, in every sense of the word, a remarkable human being.

It's difficult to guess how many thousands of student lives (and countless others) he impacted in his illustrious career as a professor, but it's clear his loss will be felt by many, many people.

In the end, Jack was a legend and his legacy will live on through all he touched during his lifetime. It was a privilege and an honor to call him "friend" and for me, the loss is deep.
